EmployBridge Search Group is currently recruiting for a Vice President of Distribution in the Box Elder county area. The Vice President of Distribution will be responsible for ramping up the new facility and overseeing the daily operations within the fully automated distribution center supporting a global company. The Vice President of Distribution will be a strategic leader, driving business, creating a team-oriented environment, and overseeing a successful B2B and B2C distribution center. Relocation will be considered for the right candidate.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans, manages and executes all distribution-related functions to achieve goals, profitability and provide excellent service to employees and customers
- Actively monitor and overseeing all activities associated with the building, including receiving, storage, and fulfillment to ensure excellence across all departments
- Manage the budget and tracking the KPIs
- Identify, implement and streamline process to increase productivity while decreasing operational costs
- Work closely with the executive team to establish ambitious but achievable processes to increase efficiency
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations governing distribution center by monitoring implementation and practice to ensure compliance
- Overseeing and ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT safety and environmental regulations
- Ensure a safe and secure environment; adhere to safety programs, procedures and policies
- Manage total inventory management ensuring compliance of receiving and inventory control procedures
- Coaching, developing department managers to establish strong communication processes and maintain knowledge of operation and personnel issues
- Special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor s degree in related field or equivalent in education and experience
- 8 plus years of Distribution Center management experience in senior leadership management roles
- High-volume retail distribution environment that includes robotics and automation systems
- 5 plus years of e-Commerce, B2B, B2C, direct-to-consumer, high-volume LTL and high-volume small parcel operations experience
- Small parcel freight contracts and LTL contracts, with a solid knowledge of ocean, rail and intermodal transportation, a plus
- Extensive background in storage utilization, both rack and bulked inventory
- Management of high-value capital investment projects to include automation, MHE and WMS, TMS and LMS software integrations, as well as network optimization and the green-fielding of a distribution center
- Strong presentation skills both written and verbal
- Excellent MS Office Products, WMS and other software systems experience
- Talent for fostering loyalty, cooperation and communication among various departments
- Excellent organizational, analytical and strategic skills with a detail-oriented mindset
