Work Schedule: Hybrid (Lorton, VA)
This role involves acting as a key advisor to the Chief Data Officer on developing and executing the DTRA Data Strategy. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the establishment and operation of an Enterprise Data Catalog, defining standards and attributes, and outlining use cases.
- Lead the establishment and operation of Data and AI Governance, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
- Lead the establishment and operation of a Digital Maturity assessment and ongoing efforts to enhance Digital Maturity.
- Lead the establishment and operation of a Digital Literacy program to enhance digital skills within the organization.
- Lead the establishment and operation of Responsible AI (RAI) processes and techniques.
- Collaborate with the IT Directorate to establish and maintain Enterprise Architecture, particularly Enterprise Data Architecture.
- Coordinate data needs and use cases across the agency and support the Chief Data Officer in implementing data strategies and policies.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and advise leadership accordingly.
- Participate in external meetings and working groups related to data and AI.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders and combatant commands regarding data and AI requirements.
- Present project goals, progress, and strategies effectively.
- Contribute to planning and budgeting processes.
- Document existing systems, technologies, and data sources within the directorate.
- Lead pilot projects or Proof of Concepts involving data analytics and AI.
- Provide support for business process improvement efforts.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years or Master's with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Familiarity and experience with Data Management lifecycle and tools like Databricks, BI tools (Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy, etc.).
- Familiarity and experience with advanced analytics, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques and technologies.
- Familiarity and experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
- Experience in establishing and operating data and AI governance.
- Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively.
- Quick learner with problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Extensive professional network within DoD, Federal government, and commercial sectors in data and AI fields.
- Top Secret - SCI clearance required.
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with the U.S. government on areas concerning national security.
Experience supporting DTRA.
Cloud Technologies, Data Engineering/Data Science knowledge, Cloud technologies, Analytic Tools
