Description

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company and working closely with other members of the Management Team to ensure the financial health of the company. This includes managing the accounting department, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting operational effectiveness and improvement through the analysis of information and processes. The Controller is also responsible for payroll, budgeting, forecasting, auditing, taxes, cash flow management, insurance, and financial analysis to support the company's strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Certified Management Accountant or Certified Public Accountant designation is a plus.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years experience in the accounting field in a manufacturing environment or with a CPA firm that resulted in direct manufacturing client exposure.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in Accounting and Finance principles (e.g., GAAP).
  • Knowledgeable of applicable local, State and Federal laws and regulations.

Essential Functions
  • Experienced leader and manager.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, including the preparation of the annual corporate and department budgets.
  • In accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements, prepare financial statements and reports and regularly review data to ensure accuracy.
  • Forecast future cash needs and make recommendations for investment of excess cash when available.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and provide support for business projects and processes for improving operational effectiveness and profitability.
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring manufacturing financial and operational performance.
  • Regularly engage with all areas of the company to establish understanding of drivers of financial performance (i.e., manufacturing processes, materials utilization, equipment, products sold, etc.).
