General Position Summary: The Maintenance Electrician provides an essential service to all departments and equipment at our facility. Responsible for electrical repair and maintenance of all machinery and building equipment in a wire and cable environment.
Essential Duties:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
- Install, repair and modify industrial equipment and commercial wiring building equipment. Work with third party machine suppliers as needed.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns as expeditiously as possible to minimize equipment downtime & production losses.
- Collaborate with maintenance team on mechanical equipment issues noted in GOFMX and other applicable systems.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair high and low voltage electrical equipment and systems, including but not limited to fans, pumps, motors, lighting fixtures, panels, outlets, and building safety equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair ac/dc motor controls.
- Work with PLC and VFD
- Perform preventative maintenance as needed on production and support equipment.
- Comply with all standard safety codes and practices and perform work in accordance with recognized trade.
- Perform appropriate Lockout/Tagout Procedures for all machinery and equipment repairs including troubleshooting problems with existing and new installations.
- Maintain compliance with all Marmon IEI Environmental, Health and Safety policies.
- Record inspection documentation for ISO Quality System requirements.
- Support and collaborate with other departments on Lean/5S initiatives and overall facility continuous improvement initiatives, ideas or requests daily.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices within area and participate in department safety and housekeeping activities.
- Work as a team with peers, supervisors, managers and employees.
- Responsible for all projects, tasks, as assigned.
Education and Experience Preferred:- High School Diploma and Journeyman's Electrical License in MA
- Industrial maintenance/manufacturing experience with strong electrical and troubleshooting skills.
- Technical degree a plus.
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:- Ability to read drawings, wiring schematics, operating and repair manuals.
- Strong electrical/mechanical knowledge.
- Experience in industrial equipment and commercial building wiring.
- Ability to use forklift and rig equipment for installations.
- Wire and cable experience preferred.
- PLC and VFD experience.
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Must have good computer skills.
- Possess strong communication skills.
- Must be able to follow priorities given.
- Self-motivated; ability to work with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that can be noisy.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
- Ability to work long hours while standing and operating machinery.
- Ability to work in high temperatures.
- Ability to move objects and materials of at least 50lbs.
