Legal Assistant


Job Details

Wilmington, NC law firm with primary practice areas of residential and commercial real estate, business transactions, and wills/estate planning is seeking a legal assistant/closing coordinator. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a law firm, will be detail-oriented, and will be able to multi-task. Experience working with the following software is desired: SoftPro, Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Docusign.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to lawyers
  • Handle communication with clients, real estate agents, and lenders
  • Prepare drafts of documents under attorney supervision and prepare HUD-1s and Closing Disclosures for real estate transactions
  • Welcome clients to office, notarize documents when signed, and periodically meet with clients and the lawyers



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or associates degree
  • Experience in law firm setting
  • Candidate must either be a North Carolina notary public or be willing to become a notary public (required)
