Scott Humphrey has partnered with a large and reputable construction firm to help find their new Plant Operations Manager. As the Plant Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our client s manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, TX, ensuring efficient and effective production of high-quality homebuilding materials. Drawing upon your extensive experience in homebuilding, you will lead a team of production staff, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant performance.


Key Responsibilities


Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of production supervisors and frontline staff.

Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration within the plant operations team.

Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing feedback to enhance team performance.

Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands while maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste.

Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to ensure on-time delivery of quality products.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, and quality assurance, to streamline operations and optimize resource utilization.

Establish and maintain stringent quality control standards to ensure all products meet regulatory requirements and customer specifications.

Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify quality issues and implement corrective measures as necessary.

Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

Lead initiatives to drive operational excellence, enhance productivity, and reduce production costs.

Implement Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other best practices to optimize processes and maximize efficiency.

Identify opportunities for innovation and automation to improve product quality, accelerate production cycles, and drive competitive advantage.

Develop and manage annual operating budgets, capital expenditure plans, and cost control measures to achieve financial targets.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze variances, and take proactive measures to address deviations from budgetary goals.

Identify opportunities for cost reduction, waste elimination, and operational optimization to improve profitability.


Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant operations management, with a focus on homebuilding or construction materials manufacturing.

Proven track record of leadership and team management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management principles.

Experience implementing Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to manufacturing operations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing ERP systems.
