Description

This position is responsible for integral parts of the accounting process. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Accounting Assistant who is familiar with accounting procedures and has experience working with accounting software programs. The ideal candidate will process daily business transactions including receipts and disbursements, accounts receivable, accounts payable and other financial support. This position will be in charge of monthly bank reconciliations and will provide assistance for general ledger review and timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Responsible for accounting data entry duties such as:
Input accounts receivable invoices and review for accuracy
Distribute monthly statements for all customers
Receive and process cash, check, credit card, and ACH payments
Identify delinquent accounts, and correspond with agents, managers, and customers to collect past-due balances
Follow company guidelines to establish new vendors, input accounts payable bills, and process payments as appropriate
Research and resolve billing discrepancies
Assist with monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Assist with monthly financial reports
Participate in weekly finance department meetings
Cross-train in the department to best support all areas
Be responsive and proactive, responding to emails and voicemails within ONE business day of receipt, to ensure a high level of support for our sales associates, managers and staff.

Qualifications

Excellent computer skills, experience in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
Experience with accounting software, Sage Intacct preferred
Data entry and word processing skills
Able to use 10-key by touch, with accurate data entry
Aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reporting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven accounting experience, preferably as an accounts receivable clerk or accounts payable clerk
Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
Accurate and precise attention to detail
Strong customer service skills
Associate degree in accounting or a related field preferred
