**Overview**

The Manager of Sales is responsible for effective management of the sales department including quota attainment, planning, pipeline, tools, processes, recruiting, and skill development. This individual is expected to promote a buyer-centered culture by maintaining innovative, modern approaches to align with buyer interests and needs while meeting department goals. In addition, this role fosters close, cooperative relationships with peer leaders and works closely with the Marketing, Customer Success, Operations, Product, and Engineering teams to maximize opportunities for positive collaboration that support the sales function.

**Responsibilities**

Department Management

Define and implement strategies, processes, and tactics that support the achievement of team goals.

Ensure sales reports and other internal data are provided to the sales organization and company leadership. Surface valuable analysis and thoughtfully articulate insights, action items, considerations, etc.

Define sales processes that drive desired sales outcomes and identify improvement where and when required.

Oversee and guide one-one-one and team pipeline reviews, deal strategy sessions, meetings, and training sessions to ensure ongoing improvement, goal attainment, and sales process adherence.

Define and manage territories, set quotas, and manage other aspects of the department to help support the achievement of our goals.

Create forward-looking departmental plans to support our future growth targets.

Team Management

Provide oversight, guidance, and accountability for the sales team, setting expectations for performance, and improving productivity and results. Create and implement processes and standards in support of team goal attainment.

Manage team skill development and coaching for improved performance across the entire team.

Provide skills assessment and gap analysis of individual team members and provide coaching for improvement.

Recruiting and Onboarding

Work with HR on recruiting, screening, and hiring team members, as needed, based on approved staffing plans.

Define and oversee a successful onboarding process for new team members.

Success in this role is measured by

Meet and exceed team quotas for new opportunities opened, close rate, and new contract value.

Implementing strategies to ensure sales goals are achieved.

Managing activities, pipeline, forecasts, commits, and sales processes to ensure goal attainment.

**Requirements**

3-5 years sales leadership experience, managing high-performing teams who achieved quota consistently.

Previous experience building sales organizations from early-stage to at least $10m ARR.
