at Landing Birmingham, AL **About the Role:**

The Associate Buyer is responsible for establishing inventory strategy, and effectively managing inventory levels across the Landing distribution network for their segment of the business. The goal is to maximize company growth and profitability while also satisfying customer demand by working closely with Design, Product Development, Supply Chain, Operations, Turnover, and Install team to implement and maintain thoughtful inventory and buying strategies.

**What Youll Do:**

* Assist with procurement tasks related to inventory / category management, with direction from Senior Buyer, such as ad-hoc analyses, item data maintenance and purchasing

* Provide assistance to Senior Buyers with PO placement, expediting, etc., including maintenance of up to date system information and communication of critical dates changes

* Manage inventory strategy for product categories including new product buys, reorders and cost.

* Manage category planning operations, including critical deadlines, packaging, data entry and product lead-times.

* Drive item planning and forecasting for ordering, allocation and cross-functional need

* In collaboration with Finance, forecast inventory needs at a category level based on changes in trend, strategy or business climate.

* Assist with business reviews to determine actions that will optimize inventory and gross margin

* Develop and provide appropriate business analysis to influence future purchases and assortment strategies

* Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Supply Chain, and vendors to enable successful business strategies and flawless execution

* Identify cost opportunities through effective strategic assortment planning

**What You Need:**

+ Bachelors degree in business or related field

+ A minimum of 3 years in merchandising, planning/allocation, procurement, buying or equivalent experience

+ Experience with inventory management, demand planning, supply planning, or production planning

+ Strong financial acumen and experience analyzing data.

+ Support a collaborative work environment within the Procurement Department focused on distinctive products and an engaged customer experience.

+ Aptitude for spreadsheet and planning tools

+ Proven ability to work with attention to detail and accuracy

+ Good reading, written and verbal language skills
