Under general direction will assist in preparation, review and distribution of accurate financial statements.
Job Summary and Qualifications
- Serves as a liaison to all customers by researching, answering financial questions in a timely manner. Under general direction will assist in the preparation, review and distribution of accurate financial statements.
- Participates in the month end close process. Insures all standard and special entries are prepared and recorded in a timely manner. Completes a trend review of assigned financial statement expense categories and reviews assigned balance sheet accounts. May work weekend and holidays if they fall within our month end close schedule from the 4th-8th.
- Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts. The account reconciliation will represent the most current month ending account balance with the appropriate detail to support the balance. Any reconciling items will be researched and corrected within 30 days if possible. If the item will remain as reconciling for over 30 days, justification will be included in the reconciliation fil e. Balance sheet reconciliations will be due to the assistant controller on a monthly basis for account review
- Provides documentation and prepares work papers as required by HCA for internal audit, year - end close and the preparation of the Medicare Cost Report. While these requests are normally annual the analytical work may be done on a monthly basis to complete a requested period
- Professionally handles requests for financial information; maintains composure and addresses issues to resolution or appropriately routes the request to the correct staff member for assistance
- Assists in the preparation of the annual budget.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Previous accounting experience
- 3-5 years of previous hospital accounting experience (preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work assignments
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
- Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
