  • POSITION PURPOSE
    • Under the direction of Departmental Leadership, participates in the day-to-day operational coverage of imaging services for all Froedtert South locations. Performs routine and minor special radiographic procedures in accordance with departmental/hospital policies and procedures. Operates auxiliary equipment specific to the department. Administers contrast materials as dictated by exam protocols. Assists with the coverage of the department and ancillary areas 24 hours a day, seven (7) days per week.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
    • Associate Degree: Radiologic Technology or a graduate of an accredited certification program in Radiologic Technology
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
    • 3 to 5 years
  • LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
    • Licensure to be eligible to practice as a Licensed Radiographer in the State of Wisconsin.
    • American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) registered.
    • Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
    • Comprehensive knowledge of radiographic and ancillary equipment; routine and minor special radiographic procedures, retrieval, and patient preparations.
    • Thorough knowledge of secretarial functions as they relate to scheduling, procedures, record maintenance and retrieval and patient preparations.
    • Demonstrated ability to organize people and tasks.
    • Communication skills, especially verbal interaction with a variety of people.
    • Ability to read, write, hear, speak, and comprehend the English language fluently.
    • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, push, pull, reach, walk and sit in accordance with total patient care.
  • PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
    • Team player who interacts well with multiple groups of individuals including patients, staff employees, management, the medical staff, and System administration.
    • Proficient knowledge and participation of workflows involving imaging guidance for fluoroscopy, surgery, portable x-rays, emergency patients, inpatients, and outpatients.
    • Recognizes clinical equipment and follows notification process as per department protocol.
    • Administers medications in a timely manner, safely and in accordance with policy and procedure.
    • Receives and records verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for orders that are specific to the services provided by their department.
