We have an exciting opportunity for an expert Assembly Supervisor who is eager to lead and grow with our company here at Emerson Discrete Automation. This role will report to the Assembly Manager and will be Responsible for the planning and directing of employees in the assembly area to increase safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and efficiency through effective utilization of machines, processes, and personnel. Advise the activities of assigned work group in a safe method and address concerns or issues in a timely manner.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Responsible for daily productivity, efficiency, organization, and quality of work areas.
  • Responsible for Daily Gemba Walks in areas of responsibility to drive safety, quality, and service.
  • Must be able to successfully connect with manufacturing engineers, maintenance, and all levels of employees within the plant on departmental problems.
  • Conduct monthly department meetings regarding safety, ergonomics and stretching, procedure and assembly training, and any regulatory training as required.
  • Responsible to handle employee performance to maintain department standards in efficiency, productivity, and accountability.
  • Provide recognition and constructive feedback through both formal and informal discussions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of production tools, fixtures, and process related supplies.
  • Provide training and assistance to all assigned personnel.
  • Obey all safety rules and stop work if continuing is unsafe or will build an unsafe condition. Report all safety concerns immediately.
  • Area upkeep maintained and sustained by 5S standard work processes.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.

WHO YOU ARE

You will relate comfortably with people across levels, functions, cultures, and geography. You will separate and combine work activities into efficient work flow. Lastly, as an Assembly Supervisor you will consider all relevant factors and use appropriate decision making criteria and principles.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Associates Degree in Business or related field and three (3) years experience in a manufacturing environment or a High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years' experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Train, lead all aspects of and enforcing compliance with safety regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing assembly equipment and ability to troubleshoot using root cause analysis.
  • Strong mechanical abilities, troubleshooting experience with root cause analysis.
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations in regard to employee performance and conduct.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Take initiative and make quality decisions based on known policies and procedures with minimal direction.
  • Must possess outstanding leadership skills and have the ability to empower others.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Act as a leader with utmost integrity, professionalism, and positive demeanor.
  • Must be a phenomenal teammate and lead by example.
  • Lean manufacturing experience is required.
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this role

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART: .

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience is desired.
  • Oracle or Kronos experience preferred
  • Experience with internal and/or external audits from customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Experience with electrical components, pneumatic equipment, hand-operated tools, and powered assembly tools.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

  • While performing duties may be required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist and/or lift up to 40 pounds throughout an entire shift.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Exposed to manufacturing plant conditions and elements including but not limited to noise, dust, dirt, oil, and grease.
  • PPE's will be required including safety glasses and/or safety shoes.
  • May be required to work at different workstations as business needs require.
  • May be required to work overtime, up to 60 hours per week.
