**Job Summary**
Support the Dispatch Manager in leading and managing daily dispatch operations of concrete transit vehicles and drivers for conveyance of ordered product and materials to customers within the Lincoln Ready Mixed operational area.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
Compiles list of available vehicles. Assigns vehicles according to factors such as capacity and location of delivery, product ordered or customer requirements.
Follows all DOT FMCSA and NEBCO rules, regarding the drivers they dispatch.
Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return.
Investigates overdue vehicles.
Coordinates and maintains two-way radio traffic between the Drivers in the field and Central Dispatch by dispatching proper units and maintaining constant communications.
Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise.
Notifies appropriate personnel of accidents, customer complaints and issues requiring additional attention.
Operates computer system to enter, receive, and adjust associated data.
Assists in scheduling the dispatchers work shifts and assignments.
Establishes service or delivery routes.
Back-up to the Dispatch Manager, in their absence, responsible for the Managers duties in supervising subordinate staff.
Address and resolve employee issues, as needed. Monitors weather system and reports accordingly.
Other duties may be assigned.
**Education and/or Experience:**
* High School diploma or GED with at least 4 years of experience directly related dispatch duties and responsibilities discussed in job; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Previous Logistics background a plus.
* Proven leadership skills with ability to maintain an excellent level of interpersonal relationships
* A Commercial Drivers license is helpful but not necessary. Must have a Valid Nebraska Driver's License

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
This is a full-time position. The typical working hours of this position are Monday through Friday but will occasionally require on-call and flexibility to cover weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed.
