As we continuously grow, we are looking for an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our passionate team.


POSITION DETAILS

As a key member of our Environmental, Health, and Safety team, you will ensure regulatory compliance, conduct risk assessments, manage safety programs, and foster a culture of safety within our organization. You will make critical contributions to the success of our business:

  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure adherence to safety regulations and identify potential risks.
  • Evaluate workplace hazards and develop strategies to minimize risks while coaching employees on safe work practices.
  • Manage the implementation and upkeep of safety programs and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Foster a culture of safety within the organization through promoting safety initiatives.
  • Lead investigations into workplace incidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.
  • Develop and deliver safety training sessions on safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure crews maintain regulatory and compliance training, including OSHA 30, Power Safe, CPR, and any required region-specific environmental, health, and safety training.
  • Stay abreast of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations to ensure organizational compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain thorough records of safety activities, incidents, and compliance efforts in EHS Insight.
  • Utilize data analytics skills to identify safety trends and patterns within the organization, enabling proactive measures to enhance workplace safety.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

At Dakota, we take on and execute some of the most challenging access projects in the country. To help us successfully manage our projects, we are looking for an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist with these qualifications:

  • Bacehlor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of field-related construction safety experience.
  • Certifications in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, CHMM, ASP) are preferred.
  • Proven experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and developing safety programs.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and EPA guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and effectively utilizing safety management software, such as EHS Insight.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed fashion.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time and work remotely.
