Bees Ferry Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. We have been serving the Charleston area pet owners since 1993. We began with two vets and a small office in a strip mall shopping center. Today, we are one of Charleston s most advanced animal care facilities. We are an AAHA-accredited hospital providing veterinary care to dogs and cats, but we have experience treating a variety of other animals pocket pets, some reptiles, and even chickens! *Licensed Veterinary Technician Role Requirements*
* Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state.
* Associate degree in Veterinary Technology
*Licensed Veterinary Technician Responsibilities*
* Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms
* Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals
* Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols of fellow staff members
* Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, and anesthesia monitoring
* Competently perform dental prophylaxis
