General Summary

Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Director of Finance will be responsible for all financial matters for Ames Watson s holding companies, and for providing leadership to the finance and accounting teams at our portfolio companies. You will be entrusted to deal with highly confidential and sensitive materials on a regular basis. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized and an excellent communicator with the ability to regularly interact with the leadership team of Ames Watson.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounting:

  • Mange all accounting and financial matters of Ames Watson and affiliate entities, including AR & AP, and all month-end close activities.
  • Monitor cash activity and report projected cash flows to the Partners on a weekly basis.
  • Perform regular ad hoc financial analysis for the Partners of Ames Watson.
  • Oversee certain company audits and internal control processes.
  • Work with outside accounting firms on various tax matters and coordinate all tax return preparation and filings.
  • Introduce and implement best-in-class processes and systems that can support further Firm growth.

Investment Portfolio:

  • Participate in acquisition and divestiture of investments by Ames Watson and its portfolio companies.
  • Create new QuickBooks files and open new bank accounts for newly formed legal entities.
  • Regularly prepare and execute funds flows for various investments.
  • Prepare detailed reports on the financial performance of the company s investments.
  • Coordinate with external entities on behalf of the company, including managing communications regarding financial investments in other companies.
  • Perform regular ad-hoc financial analysis for the Partners of Ames Watson.
  • Provide financial leadership to the Finance and Accounting teams at Ames Watson s portfolio companies, including oversight of financial statements, budgets, and cash forecasts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field.
  • 8-12 years of experience in finance, accounting, and/or tax.
  • CPA strongly preferred (inactive is acceptable).
  • Proficient in QuickBooks or other bookkeeping/ERP software preferred.
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • An analytical mind with strong organizational skills.
  • Highly detail oriented.
