Job Description:

Your Role:

As the IT Service Desk Lead Technician, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks seamlessly. You'll lead, mentor, and support a team of service desk technicians, providing first- and second-level technical support and maintaining our information technology systems and networks. Your expertise in IT support and leadership skills will be instrumental in maintaining service desk procedures, monitoring performance metrics, and identifying areas for improvement.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and maintain service desk procedures and documentation, monitor performance metrics, and collaborate with IT management to implement best practices.
  • Acquisition & Deployment: Participate in selecting and acquiring software, hardware, and related technology, and deploy pre-packaged software using distribution tools.
  • Operational Management: Lead, mentor, and support a team of service desk technicians to ensure efficient resolution of IT issues. Act as the primary point of escalation for complex IT issues and provide hands-on support for IT infrastructure. Manage IT asset inventory and conduct regular team meetings and training sessions.
What You Bring to the Role:

Education:
  • BA/BS or AA/AS in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), CCNA, or similar are highly desirable
Experience:
  • 5 years'experience in IT support, including first/second level service desk support in a corporate environment
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role
  • Strong technical knowledge of computer systems, hardware, networks, and software applications is essential
Work Environment:

We operate as a hybrid-remote workplace, combining in-office and remote work to varying degrees based on role requirements and employee location.

This particular position will support four local locations and will require regular in-office presence dependent on workload.

This position may involve occasional travel within North America. You may also participate in an on-call roster rotation and should be capable of operating power tools and lifting and transporting moderately heavy objects.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with service desk software and ticketing systems such as Freshservice, Freshdesk, ServiceNow, etc.
  • Proficiency in scripting with Batch, PowerShell, JSON, XML files.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Azure cloud services, Teams, Active Directory, VMware Virtualization, Intune, and Mobile device management tools.
