Position Details:
Position Type: Full-Time
Job Location: Hillsdale, MI.
Shift: 2nd Shift (3pm-11pm)
Compensation: $19.75 / hour

Summary:
The operator will perform tasks associated with the process of producing a quality product. This may require working on many different tasks during a working shift. We are seeking candidates from all levels of light industrial fields including, warehouse operators, forklift, shipping/receiving, machine operation and maintenance. Individuals should have a commitment to safety and producing quality products. Training will be provided and opportunities for advancement exist. In this role you will ship, receive and store raw materials and finished goods. You ll verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. You'll use a sit-down forklift to load, unload and move products throughout the facility.

Duties:

  • This location makes industrial adhesives used in the automotive industry
  • Operate fork truck or hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Operate Cartridge (tube) filling equipment to package windshield adhesive including carton erector, case packer, taper and printer, and other various packing equipment.
  • Perform minor maintenance. (change low voltage sensors, replace air cylinders and other similar tasks).
  • Have basic trouble shooting skills. (Using trouble shooting guide identify cause of line stoppage and correct).
  • Operate fork truck to move raw materials and finished goods.
  • Have basic computer skills. (Record production in Microsoft office and access work instructions).
  • Ensures operational activities and process performance are aligned with Plant and business goals.
  • Follow All safety standards.
  • Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
  • Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures and follows emergency procedures as necessary.
  • May rotate through various production/process equipment operator roles.
  • Sets up, operates and monitors automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation.
  • Hand Dexterity to use single- or two-handed tools (may be vibrating tools).

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift experience is preferred, willing to train if not forklift experienced.
  • Professional experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Must have strong work history.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow written work instructions is a must.
  • Physical requirements include standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Be flexible to work overtime and cover other shifts as/if needed.
  • Must have basic math and computer skills.
  • This position requires the use of the following during operations ( eyes protection, steeled toe shoes, hard hat).
  • This position is located in an industrial environment and all employees are expected to follow safety rules, meet production expectations, and uphold quality standards.
  • Candidates cannot begin an assignment without successful drug & background screening clearances.
