LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a Manufacturing client near the Detroit MI area to help fill a Procurement Manager position. This position provides an opportunity to expand your skillset within a dynamic environment. As the Procurement Manager you will play critical role in overseeing the end-to-end supply chain and material management process to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of high-quality products.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize the entire material supply chain process from procurement to delivery.
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard external suppliers to meet production demands.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and delivery terms.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing excess stock.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and implement inventory optimization strategies.
- Coordinate with production planning to ensure adequate material availability.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry requirements related to materials and procurement processes.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on materials management performance.
- Generate regular reports and analysis to support decision-making and process improvements.
- Supervise and provide leadership to materials management team members, including buyers, planners, and inventory specialists.
- Support training and development initiatives for team members to enhance skills and capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in supply chain management or related field.
- 10 years in materials management, supply chain, or procurement roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management techniques, and procurement strategies.
- Experience with ERP systems and other supply chain management software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Leadership abilities with a focus on team collaboration and development.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits or industry events.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
