LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a Manufacturing client near the Detroit MI area to help fill a Procurement Manager position. This position provides an opportunity to expand your skillset within a dynamic environment. As the Procurement Manager you will play critical role in overseeing the end-to-end supply chain and material management process to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of high-quality products.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize the entire material supply chain process from procurement to delivery.
  • Collaborate with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard external suppliers to meet production demands.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and delivery terms.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing excess stock.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and implement inventory optimization strategies.
  • Coordinate with production planning to ensure adequate material availability.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry requirements related to materials and procurement processes.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on materials management performance.
  • Generate regular reports and analysis to support decision-making and process improvements.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to materials management team members, including buyers, planners, and inventory specialists.
  • Support training and development initiatives for team members to enhance skills and capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in supply chain management or related field.
  • 10 years in materials management, supply chain, or procurement roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management techniques, and procurement strategies.
  • Experience with ERP systems and other supply chain management software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Leadership abilities with a focus on team collaboration and development.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits or industry events.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
