Field Service Technician - West Coast


Job Details

We are seeking a skilled CNC Grinding Field Service Technician to join our team. The Grinding Field Service Technician assists with the installation and technical support of CNC Grinding equipment throughout the West Coast. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and repair services for CNC grinding machines at customer sites. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform installation, setup, and calibration of CNC grinding machines at customer facilities.
  2. Conduct routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal machine performance and reliability.
  3. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues with CNC grinding equipment.
  4. Execute repairs and replacements of defective parts as needed, adhering to safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
  5. Provide training to customers on machine operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  6. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and machine optimization.
  7. Document service activities, including work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance.
  8. Communicate effectively with customers to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Strong understanding of CNC grinding machines and related technologies.

2. Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems, including troubleshooting and repair.

3. Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

4. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

5. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field service environment.

6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.

7. Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed (approximately 80% plus travel may be required).





EDUCATION:

AAS in Electronic Technology, Machine Tool Technology, Mechatronics, or degree/certification in related field preferred. Alternate levels of education and/or experience will be considered.

EXPERIENCE:

2+ years of experience in troubleshooting and repair required. Alternate levels of education/ experience will be considered. Additional technical training or certification in machining, electrical systems, or related fields is a plus.


BASE LOCATION: Southern California/Phoenix, Arizona. Expected to travel outside of region as required.
