Location: Rincon, GA plant; must be able to relocate. This is an onsite role without remote or hybrid options.


Summary

Operations Manager


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Leads the recruitment process by identifying, interviewing, hiring, and training operations staff, ensuring the team aligns with Virginia Transformer's standards and objectives.

Manages the daily operations workflow, optimizing processes for efficiency and effectiveness in line with strategic goals.

Conducts detailed performance evaluations, offering feedback and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities and drive performance.

Oversees disciplinary actions and manages the termination process in accordance with company policy and legal guidelines.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Directs staffing, training, and operational procedures to ensure seamless integration of the QA ISO, testing, and inspection functions across all Virginia Transformer operational areas.

Develops comprehensive operations plans, including test strategies for new and complex projects, utilizing the order expectation system for forward-looking operational excellence.

Oversees the selection, installation, and maintenance of essential operational equipment, ensuring optimal performance and quality standards are maintained.

Analyzes internal and external operational challenges, documenting issues, and leading the implementation of strategic solutions to improve efficiency and quality.

Champions operational excellence within Virginia Transformer, aligning departmental objectives with overall business growth strategies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Expert knowledge of plant and industrial engineering principles, especially as they apply to transformer manufacturing and operations management.

Exceptional organizational and detail-oriented skills, capable of managing complex operational systems and workflows.

Advanced problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to identify, analyze, and resolve operational inefficiencies and challenges.

Proven leadership and team management skills, with a track record of motivating and guiding teams towards achieving operational excellence.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, essential for budget management, operational planning, and reporting.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor s degree in industrial management, Manufacturing Engineering, or a relevant field, with a solid foundation in operations management principles and practices.

At least five years of supervisory experience in an operations or manufacturing engineering role, with a preference for experience in the transformer or related manufacturing sectors.

Physical Requirements:

Capable of extended periods working at a desk and on a computer, conducting operational analysis and planning.

Must be able to occasionally lift and move objects up to 15 pounds, reflective of the occasional physical demands of the role.
