Material Handler 1 - San Jose, CAID 11723Location San Jose, CAApply Now ( offer an excellent benefits package includingA competitive salaryMedical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurancePaid-time offTuition reimbursement401k Retirement PlanMilitary Reserve pay offsetPaid maternity leavePay Range: $20.21 - $30.31Position SummaryKey Responsibilities may include:Receives, handles and organizes material in warehouse, storage and lab areas.Enters and records information for received materials including description, quantities, projects andpurchase codes in a material receiving system.Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording locationof inventory, and reporting shortages.Follows and maintains inventory process to open, inspect, sort, catalog and relocate materials and suppliesLocates materials and supplies by using the material inventory systemLocates and packs materials for shipping.Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to movematerials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks.Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.Supports and works alongside warehouse, logistics, procurement, project management and engineeringteamsAssist project teams with material unboxing/boxing, setup, labeling and inspection for defectsLearns and adheres to workplace safety regulations.Key Qualifications / Skills:High school degree or GED with 0-1 years experiencePrior experience on a similar roleAccuracy and attention to detail.Knowledge of inventory controlAbility to lift heavy materialsAbility to read and analyze InformationData entry skillsAbility to work independently and in a team and resolve practical problems.Process improvement mindsetAbility to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone and inwriting.AbilitiesExposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, forexample, using a keyboard.Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.Identify and understand the speech of another person.Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitivebasis.Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear andcommunicate in English.May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
