Job Details

Purpose:

Ensure the kitchens are clean, well maintained and organized at all times. Ensure floors are clean and dry at all times. Adhere to all sanitation guidelines.

Essential Duties:

  • Carry out general cleaning as directed to include sweeping, mopping, washing, emptying of rubbish bins and boxes ensuring placement in the correct containers.
  • Responsible for cleaning and care of equipment and work stations in work areas. Scrape and wash all dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, before placing into dishwasher or pot sink. Cleans large equipment as assigned, following established procedures. Responsible for properly closing down the kitchen.
  • Operate the dishwashing machine, small appliances and wash dishes according to safety and sanitation procedures. Place clean pots, pans, dishes and cutlery in proper storage areas. Restock dishes, trays and cutlery during service. Ensure all equipment is clean and in good working order.
  • Receive food shipments and place stock on shelves in a neat and orderly fashion and rotate to assure freshness. Check all chemical levels and inventory. Record breakages or chipped items found then remove from circulation and update the breakage and inventory register.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning assignments of equipment, walls, ceiling tiles, vents, floors and filters including dining room carpet. Comply with all governmental sanitation codes as apply to our facility.
  • Attend all required in-services and trainings. Adhere to attendance policy. Report to work on time as scheduled. Completes required training and attends staff meetings.
  • Assist the cooks and servers as and when necessary. Report any maintenance or hazard issues to management.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations. Consistently adheres to MSDS information related to the proper and safe use of chemicals in the workplace. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Qualification:
  • For purposes of effective communication with residents, families and staff; must be able to see, hear, speak, read and write English.
  • Maintain ability to stretch, push, pull, kneel, reach, twist, lift unassisted at least 35 lbs and walk or stand up to eight hours.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
