Description

SUMMARY:

The Production Quality Technician is responsible for assisting in implementation of Plasma-Therm's Quality management system with minimum supervision guided by Plasma-Therm's core values. Ensuring all systems meet or exceed expectations while adhering to standard system specifications, purchase order, and quality standards. System inspections and audits are performed in a professional and completely unbiased manner verifying business operations and / or that Plasma-Therm's products comply with specified requirements. Provide improvement of product reliability and quality through evaluation and modification of equipment procedures and systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs complex calibration of equipment to the quality standards of ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure) prepare documents for the customers
  • Reviews order intake documents and configurations to ensure that all systems are built to what was ordered by the customer
  • Ensures systems are being tested to the correct specifications
  • Completes process and prepare report for Customer and IAT (Internal Acceptance Test)
  • Performs the hardware and standard process portion of IAT when customers witness equipment
  • Ensure all, if any, nonconformities found during system audit or Customer Witness are documented in SQUISH and confirmed all have been corrected or have a corrective action plan before shipment.
  • Develops and implements process inspection procedures for all manufactured products
  • Reviews field failure reports for defects shipped and verifies that our in-process inspection has the correct specifications
  • Logs all inspected and reviewed material into QA inspection Log with all essential details recorded in a standard and uniform manner
  • Works with process group to develop baseline results by chamber type
  • Initiates non-conforming machined or assembled parts Damaged Material Report (DMR)
  • Interfaces with various departments to prioritize inspection items based on delivery schedule, project timelines, or specialized work requirement
  • Assist Manufacturing with development of operating procedures, production standards, and special manufacturing studies
  • Participates in the development and implementation of in-process quality checks and any testing procedures and equipment needed for the same.
  • Ensures all new and existing product lines have proper up-to-date technical documents. Responsible for the writing and maintaining of acceptance test procedures (ATP) for all product lines.
  • Works on other assigned task and projects

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree or trade school in Mechanical Engineering, drafting (CAD design), or a related discipline
  • Three to five years related semiconductor equipment experience desired

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Working knowledge of disposition and etching techniques, blueprints, drawings, schematics, BOMs, manufacturing documentation systems, test equipment, audits, and inspections
  • Ability to measure with gages, calipers, and micrometers for high accuracy on the inspection of tools and hardware
  • Working knowledge of product technology is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of integrated systems to include vacuum, RF, electronics, and all mechanical assemblies.
  • Must be proficient in the use of PC operation for the use of reports, procedures, data gathering and analysis i.e. Excel, PDF writer, Word, Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively interdepartmentally and externally with vendors and customers as required
  • Ability to compile and analyze technical data, write reports and procedures and present technical information to various groups as required
  • Able to identify improvement opportunities
  • Working knowledge of FMEA, CAR and Quality Control Plans

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • The normal work environment is an inspection area complete with inspection block, tool boxes, file cabinets, etc.
  • The incumbent may be required to perform duties and interact to provide QA support in areas such as a manufacturing clean room facility, stockroom, machine shop, and laboratory.
  • The incumbent is routinely required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, touch, see, and hear, and may be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • While performing the regular duties of the position, the incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. The incumbent must be able to wear safety equipment and follow safety instructions.
  • When handling vacuum related parts and assemblies, the incumbent will be required to wear latex, nitrile, or equivalent gloves to prevent particle contamination of MTP parts.
