Position Overview:

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Community Expansion will primarily focus on leading expansion efforts to bring new communities onboard to our client s services and drive growth and impact across communities in Ohio. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your community networking skills and influence to make a tangible difference in the lives of residents and businesses.


This role will be based out of the Solon, OH office, with frequent (40-60%) travel throughout Ohio.


Responsibilities:

  • Planning Strategy: Develop and implement strategic prospecting plans to bring new communities onboard to secure membership to the organization s services.
  • Development: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local government officials, community leaders, and other influencers, to promote NOPEC's membership benefits and total value proposition.
  • Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify and prioritize market prospects, competitive landscape, and potential growth opportunities for NOPEC's energy aggregation programs.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams to coordinate company resources to ensure alignment of expansion efforts with overall organizational goals and objectives.
  • and Education: Work with Marketing team to develop and implement outreach campaigns, events, and educational programs to increase awareness and understanding of NOPEC's energy programs and benefits to new communities.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of expansion initiatives and provide regular reports and analysis to senior management on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Leadership and Development: Lead a team of community expansion professionals, including external resources and individuals contracted by NOPEC and/or supply chain partners. Provide guidance and support to meet objectives.


What You Will Need:

  • 6+ years of experience in community engagement, business development, or related roles, preferably within the energy industry or public sector.
  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience, Master s preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence diverse stakeholders, including elected officials.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of developing and executing successful expansion strategies that lead to increased membership.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of energy markets, regulations, and trends is desirable.
