Job Summary
The Data Entry Clerk will support the Sales Department by inputting paper-based information into our digital systems. The company will rely on the Data Entry Clerk for having accurate and updated data that is easily accessible through a digital database.Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Type in data provided directly from customers.
  • Collect data from the database or electronic files as requested.
  • Organize system backups on a regular basis to ensure data preservation.
  • Perform verification of data by comparing it to source documents.
  • Review and update existing data.
  • Move data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards data recorders or optical scanners.
  • Prepare spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes.
  • Manage paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost.

Skills
  • Ability to understand written/verbal instructions
  • Ability to operate office equipment and computer hardware
  • Ability to input data quickly but accurately (WPM 45+)
  • 10-key by touch
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
Work Experience
  • 1+ years' experience working as a Data Entry Clerk a plus
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Detail-oriented and have the capability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
  • Efficiently multi-task while maintaining precision.
