Role Overview:


The Estimator position involves identifying, estimating, and overseeing designated projects and clientele. In this role, you will be responsible for strategizing, budgeting, and documenting all facets of your assigned project(s). Collaborating closely with the Project Manager and Estimating team, you'll ensure the precise scope and direction of each project, as well as its accurate pricing. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Construction, the Estimator plays a pivotal role in project planning and execution.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Skilled in performing accurate takeoff measurements for wall and stone installation costs.
  • Ability to interpret bid scope, specifications, blueprints, and related documents to determine construction requirements.
  • Effective management of supplier price increase notifications and bid template modifications.
  • Proficient in preparing detailed estimates by assessing labor, material, and equipment costs for projects.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and expectations for estimating project scope of work.
  • Proactive approach to resolving issues with managerial, technical, or subcontractor assistance before bid deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with clients throughout the bidding process.
  • Knowledgeable about masonry wall and stone installation processes.
  • Collaborative work with project teams to ensure smooth project handoffs and client satisfaction.
  • Experience in obtaining competitive quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions for clients.
  • Understanding of current market conditions and trends.
  • Proficiency in updating project reporting and tracking requirements.
  • Experience in providing master project budgets and addressing project-related inquiries.
  • Proven ability to foster and maintain strong relationships with customers, clients, and subcontractors.


Required Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of construction estimating experience in various general building markets, with a preference for Masonry Estimating.
  • Bachelor s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is highly preferred; however, relevant experience will be considered.
  • Ability to lead estimates of varying sizes and delivery methods, including competitive bid, conceptual, design-build, and negotiated.
  • Strong understanding of construction costs, engineering principles, and unit pricing for scope of work.
  • Sales and customer service experience is essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in math, plan reading, and MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Stack Estimating Software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors.
  • Commitment to the company's core values and principles, demonstrated through professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
  • Experience with Viewpoint or similar accounting software preferred.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
