Job Function

We're seeking a highly motivated Quality Assurance Manager to join our leadership team at our Ashtabula, OH site. Reporting to the Director of Operations, North America, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with company objectives and industry standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Follows and enforces all company established methods, policies, rules, practices and procedures to ensure employee safety, product quality and efficient operations. Establishes, communicates, and maintains safety expectations for the department and corrects unsafe acts or conditions encountered.
  • Oversees the quality control processes and procedures to monitor product quality throughout the production lifecycle.
  • Conducts regular quality audits and inspections to identify non-conformities and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g. ISO)
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and participate in audits and inspections as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Conduct supplier audits and evaluation to assess and monitor supplier performance.
  • Manager customer feedback and complaints to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve customer issues and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Drives established plant metrics in the areas of safety, housekeeping, quality, service, productivity, and cost control.
  • Establish a culture of ISO 9001 best practices in all interactions between all departments in Ashtabula and customer service/ commercial team.
  • Create an eco-system aligned with ISO standard for corrective actions, management of change, track performance metrics for management review and maintain ISO qualifications.
  • Prepare and lead ISO requalification for the site and expand to Lockland, OH and Brampton, ON locations by sharing best practices and standardization.
  • Act as a system custodian and coordinator for all corrective actions resulting from customer complaints, rejects, and out of specification material.
  • Change agent: Create and implement root cause analysis templates and issue corrective actions to all departments.
  • Train and enforce the use of quality standards in all quality control department in Ashtabula, oh location in the short term. expand to Brampton, ON and Lockland, OH in the long term.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Organizes work assigned to meet daily operational goals.
  • Directs routine housekeeping activities to maintain desired appearance and safety standards.
  • Participates in and/or closely monitors the on-the-job training of new or newly assigned employees. Working with the Operations Plant Manager develops training plans for all employees and communicates them to each employee at least annually. Reports on progress as requested.
  • Collaborates with Company personnel, including other Production Supervisors, Quality Control Manager and Scheduling to deliver and improve on-time in full (OTIF) delivery.
  • Collaborates with other departments to meet daily production needs, including Receiving, Shipping, Quality Control, Small Batch, Maintenance, Supply Chain and Customer Service.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience in a quality supervisory role
  • Proficient project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
