Job Details
A Detroit Civil Contractor with a 30 year track record is looking to add a Project Manager to their team. They have a strong backlog for the next 2 years due to an influx of work both in private sectors and with MDOT. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of project management experience in the civil space with 1+ years of estimating experience.
- Lead and manage construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications, budgets, and schedules.
- Utilize estimating experience to accurately assess project costs, prepare bids, and negotiate contracts with clients and subcontractors, while ensuring profitability and competitiveness in the market.
- Oversee all aspects of project execution, including procurement of materials and equipment, resource allocation, subcontractor management, and quality control, to deliver high-quality workmanship and meet project milestones.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including budgets, schedules, progress reports, change orders, and safety records, to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proactively identify potential risks and challenges that may impact project delivery, and implement strategies to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and optimize project performance.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Project Management in the Civil Construction space
- 1+ years of Civil Construction Estimating
- Experience utilizing project management and estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid, Microsoft Project, etc
- MDOT experience preferred but not required
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent preferred but not required
