What you get to do:

As a Dispatch Officer I you will serve as the Senior Officer on the shift completing on the job trainings, running the Dispatch and Communications Center, and responding to calls for Security to de-escalate and resolve issues involving guests, employees, and the public. You will also gain experience managing a Dispatch/Communications center and responding to disturbances in need of Security and Law Enforcement response. This position will serve as the Officer in Charge (OIC), in the absence of a supervisor, developing leadership and decision-making skills. You will:

  • Answer incoming phone calls concerning general park information, regarding employees, contractors & guests
  • Disseminate park & emergency information to appropriate employees
  • Monitor emergency alarm systems park-wide
  • Monitor multiple radio frequencies and disseminate information via 2-way radios, phone and email
  • Maintain records and logs to ensure important and timely information is accessible
  • Assist and respond to various priority calls, including First Aid and to properly identify emergency situations and disseminate proper emergency procedures
  • Monitor weather throughout the day to ensure safe operation for all rides and attractions
  • Monitor video camera surveillance to ensure guest safety & enforce park policy
  • Coordinate with Security Management Team to ensure guest services and quality goals are achieved to include administrative support
  • Monitor Security checkpoints and posts - inspecting all bags and persons accessing or leaving the property
  • Complete routine patrols of the park and surrounding properties on foot and in patrol vehicles
  • Provide guests, employees, and vendors with safe and secure environment
  • Work independently or within in a team to provide a consistent message and security presence
  • Respond and provide aid for Emergency situations
  • Complete incident reports
  • Complete assigned tasks from management as needed
What it takes to succeed:
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Minimum 1 Year Security, Law Enforcement, or comparable experience.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience in completing Incident Reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with high aptitude for computer software systems
  • A passion for customer service
  • Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Outstanding communication abilities
  • Active listener with the ability to anticipate guests' needs
  • Ability to promote and ensure a safe and secure environment
  • Flexibility to perform varied duties
What else is important:
  • Must be able to act responsibly with a high attention to safety
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs
  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift
  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
  • Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals
  • Must be willing to comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat (both in and out of costume)
  • Must provide flexible, consistent availability (including nights, weekends and holidays) and adhere to our 2023 Holiday and Availability agreement.
  • Must be available to work shift rotations
  • Consistently practice safe work habits including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and reporting unsafe situations
  • Ability to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements within established timelines
