Job Details
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our client's growing finance team. There are 2 full-time positions open due to growth (newly created roles). The ideal candidate will have over 2 years of experience in full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes. Experience with inventory management is a plus. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall financial health of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Full-Cycle Accounting:
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and trial balance review.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with GAAP.
Month-End Close:
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze variances to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Inventory Management:
- Assist with inventory accounting, including inventory valuation, cost analysis, and reconciliation.
- Support periodic physical inventory counts and cycle counts, ensuring accuracy in inventory records.
Financial Analysis:
- Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support management decision-making.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with audits and provide documentation as required.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated on accounting standards and best practices, incorporating new knowledge into daily operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes.
- Experience with inventory accounting (preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
