** Position Description**

**IT Systems Support Specialist** Location **Chicago, IL** Job Code **244** # of openings **1** WTTW (Chicago PBS) and WFMT (Classical radio) are seeking a full-time **IT** **Systems Support Specialist**. This position is responsible for providing technical support and assistance for users.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

* Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.

* Plan for, and assist with, testing software and hardware before deployment.

* Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.

* Initiate requests for service from contract service vendors when appropriate. Manage contract service vendors as necessary.

* Follow up with end users to ensure issue has been resolved.

* Provide training and guidance to end users on hardware and software use as needed.

* Monitor the IT Help Line and Helpdesk email during those times when necessary. Enter users requests for service into the Helpdesk DB system and provide quality feedback to user requests.

* Administer computer and printer supply inventory and provide supply replacement services for devices. Assist end users where appropriate.

* Continue to gain knowledge of hardware and software through technical resources and knowledgebase sources.

* Any additional work assignments as may be scheduled by IT Management.

**EXPERIENCE:**

* 1-3 years solid experience in problem analysis and resolution of hardware and software problems.

* Experience in desktop and application support.

* IT Help Desk/Service Desk experience

* Desktop and Application install and support experience

* Prior troubleshooting experience

* Customer Service experience

* Training users in the proper use of hardware and software

* Microsoft Windows 10, 11

* Microsoft Office Suite

* macOS 10.14-12.2

* Adobe Acrobat products

* Desktop imaging applications (e.g. Ghost, Microsoft Deployment Tools)

* Familiarity with switches and basic network concepts

* Develop Training materials and producers

**EDUCATION/TRAINING:**

* Bachelors Degree

* IT certification, especially in application related experience
