**About the Indiana Department of Administration (IDOA):**

IDOA centrally manages activities relating to state purchasing, the vehicle fleet, state travel, real estate leases, property disposition, and the Government Center Campus, among others. In addition to agency support, the department provides assistance to minority, women, and veteran business enterprises interested in state contracting opportunities. Through its activities, IDOA helps to ensure the smooth function of state government, finding efficient and effective solutions to government-wide needs.

**Salary:**

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $26,702 per year.

****About the Job:****

The Maintenance Inventory Manager promotes a functioning inventory program within the facilities management division. Ensure proper inventory control by closely monitoring on-hand levels of all items consumable and non-consumable. The Inventory Manager works closely with the procurement agent to create purchase orders for necessary items pertaining to job-specific work orders.

****A Day in the Life:****

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

* Create and service a functioning inventory program that reflects exact on hand counts, accurate item descriptions, and investment into individual line items and total consumable inventory;

* Routinely manage a sign out program for the authorized use of tools, carts, and equipment by any requesting individual and capture any consumption with no return (toilet paper, soap, paper towel, etc.);

* Maintains an accurate inventory by performing regularly scheduled cycle counts, ensuring proper inventory levels and replenishment of both consumable and non consumable goods, and controlling the use and consumption of all goods within the Tool Room;

* Maintains tool shop and ensure it is kept in an orderly fashion and free of trash, dirt, and debris;

* Works as a liaison to IDOA buyer and aid and assist in creating purchase orders for Utilities, Electricians, and Plumbers job specific work order;

* Reports and updates direct supervisor of inventory defecit and expenditures on a regular basis;

* Communicates regularly with direct supervisor current status of the inventory control program;

* Performs regularly scheduled inspection and maintenance on all lift and power equipment (electric and manual pallet jacks, powered single man lifts, forklifts, and hi-jacks) unless equipment is being maintained under a contract with a third party vendor;

* Conducts regularly scheduled inspection and maintenance of all loading dock areas and schedule repairs with third party vendor or perform maintenance otherwise;

* Performs ongoing, daily maintenance of loading dock areas to ensure area is free from hazards and all temporary and permanent/semi-permanent storage guidelines are being followed and rid of trash/recycleables, and other debris;

* Schedules regular pick up times and dates for recycled items in the dock area, (cardboard bales, light bulb disposal, trash and paper compactor, etc.);

* Proactively inspects building for potential repairs and schedules Utilities to perform necessary labor to prevent possible damage to plumbing, electrical, or HVAC fixture;

* Loads and unloads trucks as needed with the use of a forklift;

* Preserves and keeps Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS);

****What You'll Need for Success:****

* Five years of work experience in building or maintenance trades or accredited vocational training in building trades, maintenance trades, or related field;

* Valid High School Diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE);

* Must have and maintain a valid Indiana Driver's License;

* At least 7 years customer service and/or managerial experience required;

* Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Office, and job related internet research;

* Must possess a keen attention to detail and the ability to take effective notes/reports;

* The ability to communicate honestly and accurately is essential;

* Basic knowledge of appropriate building codes, safety requirements, and OSHA standards;

* Ability to read and follow instructions in equipment manuals, technical manuals, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), blueprints, and drawings;

* Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs;

* Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, climb ladders and structures, kneel and crouch;

* Must be able to pass a background check.

****Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:****

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
