**Facilities Laborer - Full time**
Facilities Columbus, Montana Minimum Experience **Entry-level** Compensation **$17.18** PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Under general supervision, keeps assigned buildings clean and orderly; may make minor repairs; and maintains grounds around buildings. Work varies somewhat, individual judgment within prescribed standards and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Physical requirements include walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and lifting up to 50#s (greater with assistance) and occasionally move up to 100#s;
* Work may be performed in generally uncontrollable conditions of rain, snow, heat, cold, dampness, and exposure to chemicals;
* Ability to follow written and oral instructions; and
* Must possess a valid Montana Operators License
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE:
* Performs grounds maintenance duties that include watering lawns, trees, plants, and
applies fertilizers and other yard chemicals to the grounds;
* Shovels or plows snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots and spreads salt when necessary;
* Maintains grounds by performing mowing, trimming, cleans up grounds and parking areas by picking up paper and trash;
* Maintains various equipment and materials;
* Maintains and inspects county offices and buildings and makes minor repairs to doors, windows, locks, plumbing, electrical, etc.;
* Assures plumbing, electrical structural, and mechanical systems function properly;
* Assists the Building Supervisor on most major and minor repairs and projects as needed;
* Flexible hours may be required; and
* Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* High school graduation or its equivalent PLUS
* One (1) year of demonstrative experience in the maintenance of buildings and grounds;
* Possession of a valid Montana Operators license.
EXAMPLES OF PERFORMANCE CRITERIA AND EXPECTATIONS:
* Maintains grounds, waters, mows, trims, and other lawn care;
* May perform general building maintenance and custodial care as needed;
* Ability to safely operate power tools, perform the trade skills of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and minor construction in assisting the Building Supervisor in remodeling of the county facilities;
* Deals courteously with the public and fellow employees;
* Possesses the ability to follow written and oral instructions; and
* Performs other duties as needed or as directed.
