POSITION SUMMARY:

This Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading a team that manages sourcing and replenishing of raw materials consisting of commodity chemicals such as but not limited to, solvents, surfactants, polymer resins, and miscellaneous items to support manufacturing located in North America. The individual in this position will develop processes, resolve issues, and track and monitor progress of team on established KPIs. Also responsible for collaborating effectively with suppliers and stakeholders.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead team responsible for purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies to maintain operations at US Production facilities.
  • Manages development and execution of Procurement processes in line with established metrics
  • Ensures materials are available in a timely manner to prevent stock outs, expedites issues with suppliers and escalates with management / commercial to ensure quick resolution
  • Develops and delivers an effective raw material purchase plan that optimizes costs and inventory
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve supply and process problems
  • Locates, qualifies, and establishes a network of vendors to supply materials and services.
  • Manages MRO spend including service agreements, supplier relationships and purchasing process
  • Prepares bid requests and reviews supply quotations.
  • Negotiates with suppliers to obtain cost reductions for materials, services, and supplies.
  • Leads Procurement projects and participates in cross-functional projects as assigned.
  • Communicates effectively with suppliers, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Coach and Mentor direct reports, and other Procurement team members.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 years' experience in purchasing of direct raw materials and MRP (required)
  • 5 years' Purchasing experience within SAP (required)
  • Bachelors' degree in business or related (required), MBA (desired)
  • CPM or CSCP certification (desired)
  • Chemical industry background (desired)
