Job Summary
To install and maintain the refrigeration, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems and components throughout UMMC.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification preferred. Three years of related experience, healthcare preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR REGISTRATION
Valid Driver's License.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and cooling systems. Skill in the use of tools equipment and supplies applicable to trade; Sill in performing routine maintenance and repairing machines. Verbal and written communication skills; Proficient computer skills; Interpersonal skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Observes and tests system operation using gauges and instruments.
- Dismantles machines and removes parts for repair; Installs, adjusts or replaces worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and reassembles repaired systems according to specifications.
- Installs and maintains pneumatic and digital control systems.
- Tests line, components and connections for leaks.
- Ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies; complies with applicable safety and environmental practices.
- Completes and documents work performed in a timely manner and maintains quality standards.
- Cleans machines using cleaning solvent, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuum and/or other equipment.
- Lubricates or applies adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts or other equipment.
- Operates machine shop equipment such as engine lathes, drill press, grinder, milling machine, and hydraulic press to fabricate equipment parts.
