BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE To serve as a permanent substitute for the district, providing instruction in the absence of the assigned teacher for a single day or for long term absences.

The employee performing the duties of this position is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, hear, bend, stoop, and reach. The employee may be occasionally required to manually lift, move, or carry up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to interact with staff and meet the demands of several different people. The employee is responsible for the work output of others. The employee occasionally works extended hours. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES - To work in conjunction with the classroom instruction plan to deliver daily instruction and student supervision.
- To conduct a program of study based on the district's curriculum that enables students to reach their maximum potential for success.
- To support and enforce all school rules and regulations.
- To maintain proper and adequate control of pupils.
- To report to the building administrator all serious or willful acts of misconduct by pupils and other individuals.
- To maintain a classroom free from profane language or physical violence.
- To follow prepared lesson plans and keep attendance records as required.
- To follow the district's curriculum as set forth in the district's curriculum guides.
- To participate in professional growth activities and continuous improvement.
- Other duties as assigned by the building and district administrator.
Term of Employment: Substitute Teacher Contract (Full-Time) Jan-May 2021
Salary Range: Determined by placement on teacher salary schedule or placement on the substitute teacher pay schedule
Evaluation Frequency: Job performance will be conducted as outlined in the district teacher appraisal system.
