**Virtual Internship, Rep. Sherrod Brown (D-OH-13) @ U.S. Senate**

Description

The fall internship session will take place remotely. The fall season internship session runs from late August/early September to mid-December. Interns must be able to commit to at least 20 hours per week. In addition, our internship program is designed primarily for the educational benefit of students currently enrolled in college. As such, students must have completed at least one year of college classes before starting the internship. The internship serves as an educational experience to learn the inner workings of a Senate office, and see first-hand the actions of Congress. Participants gain professional training experience to develop the skill set for an entry-level Capitol Hill job. Duties include about 50% or so administrative and constituent work: Phones (answering and forwarding, answering questions in accordance to office policy) Mail (reading and distributing and data entry) Filing and administrative projects as needed The other portion of the internship is legislative. Interns will: Aid our legislative staff by attending briefings and hearings when needed Compose constituent letters Conduct various research projects with follow-up memos If you have students with an Ohio tie who are interested in interning remotely, please encourage them to apply on our website: .
