As an Engineering Manager at Pager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing complex technical projects, providing leadership in our dynamic environment, and continuously driving improvements in execution throughout the product life cycle. You will have the opportunity to influence product strategy, make critical architectural decisions, and design solutions using a range of cloud and open-source tools. This role is essential for ensuring the robustness and scalability of our products, while driving continuous innovation in healthcare technology. This role involves managing our products which allow our members to Stay Healthy which we view as a critical part of the healthcare decision-making process.

Responsibilities

Manage complex technical projects in enterprise software from planning to delivery.
Implement Agile methodologies and lead the engineering teams in Agile transformation.
Collaborate and prioritize with tech leads and product managers in technical and product design to ensure high-quality product delivery.
Partner with senior management to strategize and implement business goals.
Create an effective onboarding program for new engineers to ensure seamless integration.
Recruit, mentor, promote, counsel, and nurture engineers at all levels including full stack, front end, quality, engineers of all levels.
Drive career development, promotions, team management, and performance management.
Prioritize and drive 20-30% of the backlog dedicated to technical improvement alongside feature development.
Influence product priorities using technical knowledge to ensure efficient delivery while maintaining software health and performance.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives for continuous improvement.
Facilitate and lead sprint ceremonies to foster communication, collaboration, and project momentum.

Qualifications

A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience managing software engineers.
Proven experience in driving complex technical projects in enterprise software.
Deep familiarity with cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
Experience in Agile methodologies and driving Agile transformations.
Extensive experience in technical design, partnering with tech leads.
Prior experience with any of the following: React, TypeScript, Next.JS, NestJS, .NET, SQL, and Angular.
Proven track record in recruitment, career development, promotion, team management, and performance management.

For Colorado, Nevada, New York and Washington DC-based employment: In accordance with the Pay Transparency laws the pay range for this position is $119,700 to $200,000. The compensation package may include stock options, plus a range of medical, dental, vision, financial, generous PTO, stipends for professional development, and wellness benefits. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. The range listed only applies to Colorado, Nevada, New York and Washington DC .
