Brooks & Nelson s client is seeking a Process Superintendent.

THE OPPORTUNITY


As the Process Superintendent, reporting to the Process Manager, the Process Superintendent typically works a dayshift Monday through Thursday schedule. The Process Superintendent is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the heap leach, ADR, refinery, and associated processing circuits. The Process Superintendent is responsible for ensuring standards, policies, and procedures are deployed and in place while being met and consistently complied with. This role ensures all safety and production performance targets and KPIs are achieved within the constraints of the operation s budget.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure deployment of key initiatives and communication to all Process operations and maintenance crews
  • Provide balanced strategic leadership both short term, and long term through 12 to 18 months with strategic planning initiatives
  • Develop systems and foster the required collaboration to ensure the department meets monthly targets
  • Provide employees with a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring provision of safe systems of work, safe work procedures, adequate training and instruction, competent supervision, a safe plant, and safe equipment
  • Manage supervisors and other staff members in daily operations by providing administrative and technical direction in accordance to the client policy and procedure to achieve safe, efficient, and effective results
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop process direct reports to ensure deliverables are understood and met
  • Oversee all Process Operations and Maintenance budgets to ensure compliance with organizational and strategic expenditure requirements
  • Responsible for cost performance, including monthly forecast and variance analysis
  • Participate in and ensure that Zero-Based-Budgeting principles are applied in setting the annual departmental budget
  • Review capital improvement plans and makes recommendations; evaluate infrastructure, facilities, and operating systems for needed repair and maintenance
  • Review and approve job expense reports, cost sheets, and inventories
  • Prepare reports that summarize and forecast departmental business activity and financial position as requested
  • Support the development and ongoing optimization of operational and maintenance strategies
  • Ensure that all Process Operations and Maintenance activities are scheduled effectively utilizing business processes and supporting systems
  • Effective and efficient application of operational resources as measured by flowrates, chemical composition, and other production parameters
  • Establish and maintain continuous improvement work practices that align with the client's safety culture and strategic business plan initiatives
  • Develop, exemplify, and maintain positive and effective leadership and skills within department, at all levels
  • Develop and maintain positive and effective professional working relationships with vendors and co-workers
  • Effectively promote, deploy, and comply with all Safety & Health and Environmental policies, standards, procedures and regulations across Processing operations and maintenance
  • Comply with all federal acts and regulations, and legal requirements


QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent process related degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience at supervisor level or higher in heap leach gold processing facility
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in compiling and/or managing operations budgets
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in managing operational scheduling and workflow function
  • Knowledge and unwavering dedication to safety and health compliance and principals
  • Strong knowledge of surface mining operations including HSE, Maintenance, and Operations.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient ability in problem solving and strong analytical skills
  • Strong ability influence, persuade, and motivate individuals or groups to achieve desired outcomes in a professional and morally ethical way
  • Must be efficient in the use of Excel, Outlook, and Word with experience using SAP
  • Exposure to project management tools and techniques
  • Strong understanding of MSHA regulations relating to mining and maintenance practices
  • Demonstrated history of a high level of safety leadership
  • Proven experience in managing multiple priorities while maintaining a safe work culture
