Pharr Road Animal Hospital, located in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our growing team! Caring for pet families since 1974, we started out as a humble, one-doctor practice. Today, our team of veterinarians in Atlanta has more than tripled and we re proud to offer not only general wellness and preventive medicine, but alternative therapies and regenerative medicine, too. *Licensed Veterinary Technician Role Requirements*
* Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state.
* Associate degree in Veterinary Technology
*Licensed Veterinary Technician Responsibilities*
* Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms
* Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals
* Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols of fellow staff members
* Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, and anesthesia monitoring
* Competently perform dental prophylaxis
