Job DescriptionJob Title: Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager (Onsite)Location: Whippany, NJShift: 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, 37.5 hoursPay: 53.64/hrMust have:Risk assessment within a manufacturing environment.Looking to review experienced candidates with at least 8+ yrs of experience within HSE. Job Description:As a leader in HSE, you will provide the leadership and administration of the overall HSE program by developing an annual plan, achieving consensus and buy-in from site leadership against the plan, and actively driving the implementation of and monitoring progress against the plan and corresponding objectives.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for managing, coordinating, and overseeing all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) implementation, including Security Programs and processes. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirement and continuous improvement in key identified measures and objectives. Prepares and builds consensus annual strategic plans for plant-wide HSE initiatives.Reports directly to the Plant Manager and is a member of the plant s leadership team, participating in strategic and tactical objectives for the facility.Responsible for ensuring capabilities, action plans, and work processes are appropriately implemented through Near Miss, Behavior safety, and Safety defects programs.Understands relevant technical requirements in HSE and ensures proper compliance and communication with relevant Company policy and regulatory standards.Provides HSE expertise for the plant for all new projects and management of change activities.Identifies and Manages the HSE budget to stay on track related to all HSE program compliance, conformance, and CAPEX.Ensures appropriate risk assessments are conducted and corrective actions are implemented to minimize or eliminate HSE-related incidents, property loss, security breaches, and environmental loss that might cause harm to one of the company s employees, contractors, visitors, assets, or reputation.Ensures that the appropriate talent is in place through training, mentoring, and succession planning and supports the development and learning capabilities of plant HSE team members.Provides linkage to the Regional HSE Manager/Lead by actively participating and implementing Company policy, programs, initiatives, and best practices.Ensures the facility standards are in compliance with both Company and governmental/community regulations. This includes maintaining and continuously improving the HSE performance indicators in the HSE data system.Lead a proactive Safety Committee Team.Supports Security Program including ensuring Global Security standards are followed and leading the contracted Security Team.Manages the Workers Compensation Program including the temporary restricted duty program.Ensures training and coaching are taking place to drive a zero-loss culture and to ensure HSE standards and awareness are well understood throughout the plant organization. Including the execution of the following tasks:Develops technical guidance programs to identify and remove physical hazardsProvides support/technical advice to the site for the proper administration of HSE programsEnsures appropriate risk assessments are in place and/or conduct, and follow-ups are implemented in each functional areaReviews all HSE programs regularly for audit compliance and conformance.Maintains an up-to-date incident reporting system, assisting with investigating incidents in conjunction with the HSE Pillar team/safety committee, and driving the completion of corrective actions to eliminate root causes/reoccurrence.Assists plant departments in coordination, follow-up, and tracking of all HSE training sessions and records according to skill matrices & requirements establishedMaintains and receives updates for the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensures the receipt and review of lost/missing/new ones as requiredConducts health, safety, security, and environmental training, as directed and according to legal complianceImplements on-site-required and corporate-directed HSE programs as required.Monitors Wastewater treatment (WWT) system for effluent compliance.Maintains site Environmental Programs / Permits and MEMS files.Maintains the monthly HSE metrics (KPIs & KAIs) as well as safety and environmental communication and HSE Pillar boards.Maintains safety equipment inventory. Education/Experience:BS Degree in Occupational/Industrial Health & Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or other related Safety discipline. ASP, CSP preferred.Minimum 7 years' experience as an HSE professional with technical functional excellence in HSE, demonstrated through leadership in an industrial environment.Demonstrated ability to build functional and plant teams and create a motivational environment.Strong ability to build relationships, good managerial courage, with appropriate priority setting, and the ability to resolve conflict in a progressive manner, including the ability to build relationships across the plant, the region, and also within the local industry.Strong project management and change management skills.Some experience with Integrated Lean Six Sigma and/or TPM is highly preferred.Successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with federal, state, and local compliance agencies in regulatory filings such as air emissions, wastewater, stormwater & chemicals, etc. Must have knowledge and understanding of OSHA, EPA, and ISO certifications.Qualification in HSE management systems and applicable local HSE legal compliance is strongly preferred.Training and qualification as on ISO 14001 and 18001 standards preferred.:23-12395,:07/17/2023,:01/17/2024,:Whippany, NJ, United States,:All undefined
