Research Manager


Job Details

The Research Manager will provide leadership, administrative direction, and hands-on effort in managing the Research Department as it conducts practical and innovative research projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying potential research opportunities, designing, executing research projects, and enabling new technology development in water purification and filtration. This position, reporting to the Global Director of Research & Technology, requires a strong collaborator with a proven track record of effective partnering within a cross-functional global environment.


Job Responsibilities:


Strategic: Drive innovation through robust understanding of market requirements and customer needs. Identify focus areas for future growth as well as potential obstacles or operational issues. Consistent interaction with customers, industry experts, and vendors.


Technical Competency: Experience in developing materials, process specifications and scale-up of technologies. Ability to think beyond current state and bring in new, innovative ideas to solve problems effectively. Utilize expertise to strategically evaluate technical feasibility and offer guidance on solutions. Design research methodologies, experiments and apply relevant tools and techniques to data collection. Serves as technical ambassador for the organization.


Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and oversee global applied research projects from conception to completion. Define project scopes, objectives, deliverables, timelines and allocate resources accordingly.


Team Leadership: Monitor, direct, supervise staff to include hiring, training, development, and performance management. Provide technical expertise, direction, and support in a collaborative and innovative research environment. Responsible for the purchasing of all lab materials, equipment, annual maintenance contracts, software etc.) for the group.


Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present research findings and insights to senior management and stakeholders. Ensure accurate reporting/documentation protocol. Work with internal/external regulatory experts to understand existing/upcoming regulations in water purification sector, integrate requirements during technology development. Possesses a thorough understanding of local/regional regulations and company policies.


Safety: Ensure all lab equipment and materials of the group are properly maintained and/or stored and fully comply with all safety and regulatory requirements. Performs frequent site

safety walkthroughs to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury. Seeks input from safety teams and leaders on improvement opportunities.


Qualifications:

Master s Degree required, Ph.D. Degree preferred: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science and Engineering.

Minimum 10 years of Research and Development experience.

Minimum 5 years of leading Research Programs/ Team.

Proficiency in research methodologies, data analysis tools, and statistical software.

Ability to translate complex technical information into easily understandable insights and recommendations.

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Budget management experience is a plus.

Filtration/Separation science knowledge is a plus.
