**Description**

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

- Ensure site-specific programs adhere to local, state and federal regulations (OSHA, DOT, EPA).

- Manages Majestic systems and programs to actively engage all associates and drive a proactive safety culture committed to eliminating/ reducing hazards and risk.

- Partners with other areas to drive continuous improvement and manage change successfully.

- Evaluate site specific EHS policies, procedures and programs to ensure effectiveness.

- Responsible for implementing and monitoring key EHS metrics to drive world class EHS performance.

- Responsible for identifying and facilitating/executing impactful risk reduction projects.

- Assist site leadership in incident investigations to determine root cause and make appropriate corrective action.

- Ensures EHS communication systems and procedures are in place and utilized appropriately.

- Manage all records in accordance with regulatory and company standards.

- Responsible for execution of site-specific training programs to ensure effectiveness and compliance.

- Partner with managers/supervisors to identify and address EHS issues.

- Develops and Implements strategic EHS initiatives/campaigns to drive awareness at all levels.

- Coordinate on-site assessments to audit physical conditions, safe work practices, and EHS compliance in accordance with applicable standards.

- Conduct work station risks assessments to identify and eliminate/reduce risk in all areas of the operation.

- Drives projects and awareness to achieve desired sustainability goals at each location.

- Coordinate and engage EHS related teams/ committees to ensure impactful results.

- Research regulatory requirements, industry standards, and EHS best practices.

- Perform EHS assessments at outside locations as required.

- Other Job related duties and special projects as assigned

**Education, Training and Experience Requirements**

* Minimum 4 years of experience working in Health, Safety and/or Environmental in a manufacturing setting.

* Bachelors degree in EHS, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related field.

* Experience in conducting EHS related training.

* Understanding of machine guarding requirements and applications.

* Experience with chemical management and hazardous waste programs and requirements.

* Experience with storm water management and compliance

* Technologically savvy with experience in MS Office products and Windows-based computer applications.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements**

* Thorough knowledge of applicable EHS standards and regulations (CAL/OSHA, EPA, DOT).

* Ability to influence and drive positive change.

* Strong written and verbal presentation skills.

* Clearly communicate sensitive matters with management and maintain confidentiality.

* Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple projects.

* Ability to research and analyze information and draw valid conclusions and recommendations.

* Desire to continually learn and expand knowledge base.

* Ability to build professional relationships based on trust and mutual respect at every level of the organization.

* Professional, enthusiastic and friendly demeanor.

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Associated Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).

* Experience within the steel industry.

* Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.

**Supervisory Responsibility**

* Potential supervisory responsibility.

**Additional**

* Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days as needed.

* Must be able to occasionally lift and or move objects up to 50 lbs.

* Must be able to work in both hot and cold atmosphere depending on weather conditions.

* Must be able to travel and work at an outside location.
