Associate Attorney (on-site-Wilmington, DE)


Our client is looking to add an Associate Attorney to their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal research and analysis, as well as experience in civil litigation. The successful candidate will be able to provide legal advice to clients, draft legal documents, and represent clients in court. We are looking for an individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Compensation commensurate with experience level. Practice area: Medical Malpractice defense.


Responsibilities:

  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze legal issues.
  • Provide advice and counsel to clients on legal matters.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsels.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and other meetings as needed.
  • Maintain client files and records.


Requirements:

  • 3-5 years out of school (willing to take less experience, if necessary)
  • DE Bar Admission (mandatory)
  • Some experience in civil litigation (complex civil litigation preferred)
  • Preference for those with experience not to see a checkered resume.
  • Organized, with understanding many balls need to be juggled so a system in place for their own organization.
  • Someone comfortable with a level of independence.
  • Someone looking for a long-term place, not just floating for the most recent best offer.
  • Must be able to communicate and comfortable doing so.
  • This is an in-office job, not a telecommuting one.
  • Must be able to have a good relationship with others. This is especially true in a small office environment.
