Position is also eligible for a hiring bonus up to $4,000 and 5% increase after a six-month probationary period

Shift: 12-hour, rotating shift (on-site)

Summary of Work

Emergency Dispatcher (Communications Specialist) provides 24-hour voice radio communications and 1-800 emergency services for the state of North Dakota, and 911 responses for designated areas within the state. Individuals will perform duties independently under supervisor and guidance. The following is a summary of the job responsibilities; this is not an all-inclusive list or a full job description.

The position of the Emergency Dispatcher (Communications Specialist) is to answer incoming 911 and 1-800 state emergency incoming calls for the designated areas. This position will work with law enforcement, firefighters, and medical response teams on a daily basis.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, and a combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Preference will be given to those who have at least one year of experience in an emergency services capacity or similar industry. Basic computer experience and typing skills with a minimum of 40 words per minute. This position will require the following certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) within six months of hire . Team members must live within 30 minutes of the work location. Successful completion of the interview process, reference checks, background investigation and pre-employment drug and hearing tests.
