The Pre-Arrival Resettlement Manager provides support, strategy, and vision for the resettlement Pre-Arrival team. This position oversees in coordination with the Post-Arrival Resettlement Manager, the initial reception and placement of refugees and asylees.

Role & Responsibilities

    • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
    • Recruit, hire, and train new Pre-Arrival staff
    • Help ensure case files have all necessary documentation
    • Assist Resettlement Director with monitoring program spending, training staff, and other related tasks as needed.
    • Coordinate and convene weekly Resettlement Team Meetings in conjunction with Post-Arrival Manager
    • Schedule and lead regular staff trainings as necessary
    • Build relationships with other community partners through regular attendance at various meetings, as necessary
    • Respond to transfer requests and provide referrals as needed
    • Review 90-day R&P reports to ensure Completion for submission
    • Process and screen pre-arrival cases for the R&P program and its various tracks in coordination with HO Resettlement Staff
    • Prepare cases in Dynamics for all new arrivals
    • Request and keep track of Pocket Money for new cases
    • Communicate with staff from other offices in the World Relief network to identify best practices to improve services
    • Coordinate community input to help inform, design, and implement current and new programs
    • Coordinate with Housing and Pre-Arrival Setup Team to ensure clients receive housing and MNS
    • Assist with some other projects as necessarily assigned
    • Verify and Approve Time Sheets for Direct Reports
    • Coordinate and convene weekly housing/set-up meetings for new arrivals
    • Coordinate with CCE staff to identify cases suitable for Good Neighbor Teams and represent the R&P program for communication with CCE staff
    • Respond to inquiries from US Ties during timeline between case assurance and case arrival


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    • A desire to serve refugees in support of the mission of World Relief
    • Two years of experience working in a multi-cultural, social service setting required
    • Good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects at one time
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
    • Knowledge of refugee language desired
    • Intermediate computer knowledge, including MS Office and the ability to learn new programs.
    • Management experience preferred
    • Flexibility in schedule and a desire to learn a must
    • Ability to perceive needs and initiate solutions to ensure effective resettlement programs
    • Confidence in public speaking, including vocalizing opinions and sharing feedback in group settings, and providing constructive feedback to staff
    • Ability to perform basic accounting functions in order to produce budgets and track spending

    • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
    • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
    • Authorization to legally work in the US
    • Either Bachelor's degree in related field or relevant experience required
    • Up to 25% domestic travel required


$25 - $27 an hour

Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information.

The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions.

Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.

Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.
