Project Manager (Special Projects Group)
Independence Construction is seeking an ambitious and team focused Project Manager for our Special Projects Group in our Independence OH headquarters. As a Project Manager, you will report to the Director of Special Projects and will be responsible for all aspects of one or more construction projects for the duration of projects assigned; lead the project team with the project executive and represent Independence Construction to the client.

A typical day looks like:
- Working with estimating department on project bids and pre-construction phase for assigned bids and/or projects. Assisting in preparing Bid Packaging strategies and bidding Scopes of Work followed by awarding subcontracts.
- Managing multiple Special Projects concurrently, generally between $1-$10 million in construction volume each. These projects can range from interior fit-outs to small ground-up construction projects.
- Preparing and reviewing project schedules from the pre-construction phase through close-out.
- Creating and distributing Job Cost project performance reports and develop and revise project budgets, as necessary.
- Acting as liaison with Owner/Architect for projects assigned.
- Administering and monitoring compliance with construction contracts with Owners, subcontractors, and vendors; providing timely written notices in accordance with project manual and contract requirements.
- Coordinating and expediting materials and services for the job site, in conjunction with the superintendent.
Do you have what it takes?
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering.
- 3 to 7 years in construction project management roles, with at least 1+ years managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to deal with situations involving sensitive and confidential company issues.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels, both internally and externally.
- Knowledge of budgeting and expense control.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to write reports, and business correspondence.
- Able to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of all different construction delivery systems.
- Strong attention to detail.
