Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Daycare Aide is responsible for providing support to Daycare Teachers and Director in ensuring that quality care is provided, and a safe and fun environment is maintained for children. They must monitor the children to ensure that they play and interact with one another in a safe and appropriate manner while also receiving proper attention.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist in planning and organizing games and activities for children in group settings.
- Care for and attend to the needs of Daycare children, including but not limited to dressing, feeding, changing soiled diapers, potty training, and monitoring activity and play.
- Collaborate with other Director/Teachers/Substitutes.
- Clean and sanitize the Daycare Center.
- Serve meals and snacks to children.
- Set up classroom and play areas daily.
- Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by all federal, state, and local guidelines.
QualificationsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONSAge:- Must be 16 years of age or older.
Education: - High school diploma or equivalent (when applicable).
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
Experience:- A minimum of one-year relevant experience required.
Licensure and Certification: - BLS/First Aide certification required
- Safe With You certification required
- Provided upon hire if needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of:
- Childcare principals and procedures
- Early childhood teaching strategies
Skills in:
- Communication: to interact with children, parents, and colleagues effectively
- Patience: to handle chaotic situations and respond appropriately
- Creativity: to provide a fun and interactive environment for children
- Organization: to assist in daily activities and schedules planned by Teachers/Director
