JOB SUMMARY

Supervises and coordinates activities of employees who repair, install, trouble shoot and perform preventive & predictive maintenance on equipment

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Participates in repairing, installing, troubleshooting and performing preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment
  • Prepares work schedules, assigns work
  • Participates in setting up new equipment, making modifications of existing equipment
  • Inspects work to insure work is done correctly, safely and efficiently
  • Ensures that all needed materials are ordered by writing purchase requisitions and ensures that they are received for daily operations and project work
  • Provides feedback to the Maintenance Manager for areas of improvement within the department

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Directly manages Maintenance Technicians
  • Interviews applicants
  • Trains employees
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work
  • Appraises performance
  • Rewards and disciplines employees
  • Addresses complaints and resolves problems

EDUCATION

  • One year certificate from technical school, Associate's Degree preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Five years of experience in industrial maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a maintenance department

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

  • Expert knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Highly proficient with pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, electronics, motors, and general industry
  • OSHA 30 certified
  • FANUC HandlingTool Programing certificate required
  • Expert with Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF)
  • Willing to work in an environment that requires a "Safety First" attitude. Must obey all Safety, Health & Environmental rules/regulations prescribed by regulatory agencies that are incorporated into company policy
  • Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to handle non-energetic material
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
